Malik Nabers
Malik Nabers Injury severity downplayed
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 12:26 PM
The Giants do not believe the shoulder injury that caused Nabers to leave the practice field under his own power early Tuesday to be serious, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Nabers fell on his left shoulder while working as a blocker during a running play in team drills Tuesday, and he left the field with team head trainer Ronnie Barnes under his own power, but the decision to not have him return to practice was reportedly only a precautionary measure. New York has a rest day Wednesday, so Nabers' next chance to retake the practice field will come Thursday. It wouldn't be surprising to see New York take a cautious approach to the star wideout's recovery, and absences at such an early stage of training camp shouldn't be overblown, but Nabers could use all the reps available as he works to build chemistry with a trio of new quarterbacks in Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart.

Malik Nabers Leaves practice early Tuesday
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 10:09 AM
Nabers exited Tuesday's practice session early after appearing to injure his shoulder while blocking on a run play, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Nabers walked off the field under his own power with a trainer, per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. There aren't any indications that Nabers has sustained any sort of significant injury, with Dan Duggan of The Athletic noting that the second-year wideout may have simply been shaken up, but he at least appears done for the day. The 2024 first-round pick began training camp as a full practice participant, though head coach Brian Daboll has suggested that the toe injury that kept him sidelined throughout OTAs may need to be managed.
Wan'Dale Robinson
Wan'Dale Robinson Back to limited practice
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 9:55 AM
Robinson (leg) returned to practice in a limited capacity Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Robinson suffered a minor injury leg injury after colliding with a teammate over the weekend and missed Monday's practice, but he participated in walkthroughs and individual drills Tuesday before going to the side field to work with a trainer, per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv. The 2022 second-round pick appears on track to return to practice quickly as a full participant.
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo Impressing as pass catcher in camp
Mon, Jul 28, 2025, 8:24 PM
Skattebo has turned heads in training camp, "doing a lot of his damage catching the ball out of the backfield," Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Raanan notes that Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary have gotten "almost all" of the first-team reps so far during camp but suggests that Skattebo eventually could get more work with the starting unit if he continues to play well. New York is still in the very early part of camp -- Monday's practice was the team's first in pads -- but Skattebo already has made an impression, including by catching a touchdown pass from fellow rookie Jaxson Dart in the right corner of the end zone to conclude practice Friday. Coach Brian Daboll has expressed praise for Skattebo, saying that the Arizona State product "runs hard" and sharing that he's "looking forward to watching him run." Tracy remains the Giants' projected No. 1 RB, but if Skattebo is able to use his superb pass-catching skills to contribute to the offense, he could carve out a role substantial enough to make him an intriguing fantasy asset.
Bryce Ford-Wheaton
Bryce Ford-Wheaton Placed on injured reserve
Mon, Jul 28, 2025, 7:21 PM
The Giants placed Ford-Wheaton (Achilles) on injured reserve Monday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Ford-Wheaton will miss the entire 2025 season after tearing his Achilles during Sunday's practice, and he'll focus on being fully healthy for the 2026 campaign. He played in 14 regular-season games in 2024 and mostly served on special teams, so his absence gives players like Zach Pascal and Ihmir Smith-Marsette a better shot at making the Giants' 53-man roster at the end of training camp.
Gunner Olszewski
Gunner Olszewski Back with G-Men
Mon, Jul 28, 2025, 6:44 PM
The Giants signed Olszewski to a contract Monday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Olszewski will return to the Giants for a third season. He didn't end up playing a single regular-season snap in 2024 after injuring his groin during Week 1 warmups, which resulted in him being placed on injured reserve. Olszewski's experience as a returner gives him a path to make the Giants' 53-man roster at the end of training camp.
Wan'Dale Robinson
Wan'Dale Robinson Dealing with minor injury
Mon, Jul 28, 2025, 10:31 AM
Robinson missed Monday's practice after getting kneed in the leg over the weekend, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It doesn't sound like anything that will keep Robinson off the field for long. He's in the final year of his rookie contract, with a recent report suggesting that he wants more chances to run routes downfield. Last year, Robinson got a career-high 140 targets, but he was last among qualified WRs in yards per catch (7.5) and second to last in average target depth (4.9 yards).
Bryce Ford-Wheaton
Bryce Ford-Wheaton Tears Achilles in practice Sunday
Sun, Jul 27, 2025, 5:52 PM
Ford-Wheaton suffered a torn Achilles during the Giants' practice Sunday, Dan Duggan of The Athleticreports.
Analysis: The leg injury that led to Ford-Wheaton being carted off the field has now been diagnosed as a torn Achilles. The 25-year-old will likely be forced to miss the entirety of upcoming season and will shift his focus to getting healthy for the 2026 campaign.
Bryce Ford-Wheaton
Bryce Ford-Wheaton Suffers leg injury
Sun, Jul 27, 2025, 2:38 PM
Ford-Wheaton suffered a leg injury during the Giants' practice Sunday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Ford-Wheaton reportedly went down on a non-contact injury during an offensive drill and eventually had to be carted off the field. If the 2023 undrafted free agent ends up being forced to miss an extended period of time, the team could be without one of their top special-teams contributors for a portion of the regular season.
Jalin Hyatt
Jalin Hyatt Back at practice Sunday
Sun, Jul 27, 2025, 9:30 AM
Hyatt (lower body) is practicing Sunday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Hyatt was held out of practice Friday due to cramping/tightness in his lower body. Though he's participating in practice Sunday, he's slated to be eased back, per Evan Barnes of Newsday. It's an important training camp for Hyatt, as he's trying to cement his place as New York's fourth wideout.
Jalin Hyatt
Jalin Hyatt Absent from Friday's practice
Fri, Jul 25, 2025, 9:04 PM
Hyatt did not participate in Friday's practice due to cramping and tightness in his lower body, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Hyatt appears to be past a leg injury that he suffered during mandatory minicamp in June. The 2023 third-rounder is working through some lingering issues early in training camp, but that shouldn't impact his availability for preseason games. Hyatt needs all the reps he can get during training camp, as he's competing for the WR3 job against Darius Slayton, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Zach Pascal, among others.
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart Not in contention to start
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 7:36 PM
Giants coach Brian Daboll named Russell Wilson the team's clear-cut starting quarterback Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: This news doesn't come as a surprise after New York signed Wilson to a one-year contract in March. Still, it dispels any notion that Dart -- whom the Giants selected 25th overall in April's NFL Draft -- could push for the starting job even with a strong preseason. It sounds like New York is content to allow the rookie out of Ole Miss to develop as an observer during his first NFL campaign, as GM Joe Schoen said of Dart on Wednesday that "there's some real benefits from sitting and learning specifically from some of the guys in the room that have the experience that they have," referring to Wilson and Jameis Winston, who was also signed as a free agent during the offseason. Dart did log one first-team rep during the first day of training camp, but Wilson took the remaining reps with the starting offense and shined, throwing multiple TDs to top wideout Malik Nabers.
Jameis Winston
Jameis Winston Splitting second-team reps
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 11:52 AM
Winston and Jaxson Dart split second-team reps Thursday in 11-on-11s, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Reports from OTAs suggested Dart was typically the second QB through the rotation, behind starter Russell Wilson and ahead of Winston. It sounds like the second-team split was closer to 50/50 on Thursday, perhaps hinting at an even competition for the QB2 job. Winston signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Giants in late March, a few days before they signed Wilson and about five weeks before they drafted Dart. Winston's contract includes $5.25 million guaranteed, so the Giants might try to trade him if Dart looks ready to back up Wilson by Week 1.
Malik Nabers
Malik Nabers May need to manage toe
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 8:56 AM
Giants coach Brian Daboll suggested Thursday that Nabers' toe could require continued management even though the wideout is practicing at the start of training camp, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Nabers said Wednesday that his toe feels good at the moment but might end up requiring surgery at some point in his career. It's an issue that dates back to college, and while it popped up again toward the end of his rookie season, Nabers nonetheless had 235 receiving yards and three TDs over the final two weeks, making his case as a first-round fantasy pick for 2025. He's mostly going in the second half of the first round now, with ADP reflecting minimal concern (if any) about the toe injury that held him out of spring practices.
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson Locked in atop depth chart
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 8:46 AM
Giants coach Brian Daboll confirmed Wednesday that Wilson is the team's starting quarterback, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: Wilson, 36, took first-team reps throughout the offseason program and will continue to do so in training camp. Daboll's comments Wednesday suggest Jameis Winston and first-round pick Jaxson Dart are competing for the No. 2 QB spot rather than making any push for Wilson's place atop the depth chart. There's nonetheless a decent chance that Dart and/or Winston makes starts at some point this year, in part because the Giants aren't expected to field a strong team. They'll play six of their first eight games against 2024 playoff participants, including Week 1 at Washington and Weeks 6 and 8 against the Eagles.
Malik Nabers
Malik Nabers Ready for camp
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 8:40 AM
Nabes (toe) is expected to be a full participant in training camp, with Giants coach Brian Daboll saying Wednesday the wideout is "ready to go," Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Nabers crucially avoided the Giants' injury lists for the start of training camp after missing a number of spring practices due to an issue with his toe. The toe reportedly has bothered him at times since college, but he didn't miss any games when it popped up as a potential problem at the end of last season, instead putting up 235 receiving yards and three TDs over the final two weeks of a prolific rookie campaign.
Eric Gray
Eric Gray Begins camp on PUP list
Tue, Jul 22, 2025, 7:23 PM
The Giants placed Gray (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: It's not clear what issue has caused Gray to not be ready for the start of training camp, but it will be important for him to get back on the field quickly since he's not a lock for a roster spot. Gray can be activated from the PUP list and begin practicing as soon as he passes a physical.
Malik Nabers
Malik Nabers Avoids PUP, NFI lists
Tue, Jul 22, 2025, 4:47 PM
Nabers (toe) didn't open training camp on the active/PUP or active/non-football injury list, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Nabers' workload was scaled back during the offseason program due to a toe injury that he dealt with in college and also during his stellar rookie campaign in 2024, when he tallied 109 catches (on 170 targets) for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 regular-season games. There's still a chance that he has some limitations during training camp, likely with the goal to have him as healthy as possible for Week 1. Nabers will be working with a completely new QB room during the upcoming campaign, including veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart.
Devin Singletary
Devin Singletary Valued as veteran presence
Tue, Jul 22, 2025, 2:21 PM
Singletary is likely to remain on the Giants' roster despite Tyrone Tracy's role as the likely primary ball carrier and the addition of RB Cam Skattebo via the 2025 NFL Draft, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Tracy and Skattebo provide promise as a young and talented 1-2 punch, which could lead to Singletary taking on a reduced role in New York's offense. However, Stapleton notes that Singletary is likely a lock for the roster, both because his veteran presence is valued on and off the field and -- perhaps more importantly -- because the Giants wouldn't gain any cap savings if they were to release the veteran RB. After signing a three-year, $16.5 million contract with New York in March of 2024, Singletary ceded lead ball-carrying duties to Tracy over the course of last year and averaged just 3.9 YPC over 113 rushes across 15 contests, adding 21 receptions on 24 targets for 119 yards.
Wan'Dale Robinson
Wan'Dale Robinson Wants more downfield opportunities
Sat, Jul 12, 2025, 3:13 PM
Robinson has indicated during the offseason that he wants more looks downfield during the upcoming campaign after playing mostly in the slot last season, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Robinson got plenty of volume last year with 93 catches on 140 targets, but he averaged just 7.5 yards per catch, the lowest mark among NFL wide receivers. The Kentucky product has expressed his desire to line up outside more often, but the likelihood of that happening is complicated by the presence of Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton as deep threats in the Giants' offense. Duggan notes that Robinson was mostly used in a short-yardage capacity during minicamp this spring even with Nabers not participating, so his wishes may not lead to any changes. That said, it's at least worth noting that New York will be more equipped to throw the ball downfield than in previous campaigns with Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart now making up the team's QB room.
